How to Make Beetroot Dosa: Ingredients

  1. Urad dal – ¼ cup
  2. Rice – 1 cup
  3. Fenugreek seeds – ½ tsp
  4. Chopped beetroot – ½ cup
  5. Salt – as per taste
  6. Water – as per requirement
  7. Oil – for making dosa

Method:

  1. First of all, wash the rice, urad dal, and fenugreek seeds thoroughly and soak them for 4-5 hours or overnight.
  2. Place the soaked rice, dal, and fenugreek seeds in a mixer jar after draining the water.
  3. Make a very fine paste now by adding some water and sliced beets. Keep in mind that the paste should not be too thin.
  4. Take out this mixture in a big vessel, add salt, and mix well.
  5. Keep the mixture covered in a warm place for 6-8 hours to ferment.
  6. After the yeast rises, your dosa batter is ready. If the batter seems too thick, you can add some water.
  7. Heat a non-stick pan. Apply light oil on it and pour a tablespoon of batter and spread it thinly in a circular shape.
  8. Cook on medium flame till it becomes golden and crisp. Your wholesome and tasty beetroot dosa is prepared. Serve it hot with sambhar or your preferred chutney.
