Easy Soya Curry Recipe: Ingredients
- One cup of soya chunks
- Water for boiling
- Salt 1/2 teaspoon (for boiling soya)
- Onion 2 finely chopped
- Tomato 2 finely chopped or pureed
- Ginger-garlic paste 1 and a half teaspoons
- Green chilli, finely chopped
- Oil 2-3 teaspoons
- Cumin seeds, half a teaspoon
- Turmeric powder, half a teaspoon
- Red chilli powder, one teaspoon
- Coriander powder, one and a half teaspoons
- Garam masala, half a teaspoon
- Kasuri methi, one teaspoon
- Salt according to taste
- Green coriander for garnishing
Method:
- Boil the soya chunks by adding some salt to 3 cups of water.
- Put soya chunks in boiling water and cook for 8 to 10 minutes.
- Then drain the water, wash by adding cold water, and squeeze out all the water by pressing lightly.
- Heat oil in a pan. Add cumin seeds and let them crackle.
- Then add ginger-garlic paste, green chillies, and onions. Fry the onions till they turn golden brown.
- Now add tomatoes or tomato puree and mix all the spices, and add them.
- Fry the masala till the oil starts leaving the sides.
- Now add boiled soya chunks and fry well with the spices for four to five minutes.
- Now add 1 to 1.5 cups of water as per requirement.
- Add salt, cover it, and cook on medium flame for eight to ten minutes.
- Finally, add garam masala and kasuri methi and mix well.
- Garnish with green coriander.
- Serve it hot with roti or paratha.
