Chilli Cheese Naan recipe: Ingredients

  1. Flour: 2 cups
  2. Baking soda: 1/2 teaspoon
  3. Curd: half cup (fresh and thick)
  4. Baking powder: 1/2 teaspoon
  5. Salt: according to taste
  6. Sugar: 1 teaspoon
  7. Oil/ghee: 2 tablespoons (for kneading) + for frying
  8. Water: for kneading the dough
  9. Cheese: 1 cup grated
  10. Green chili: 1-2 finely chopped (according to your taste)
  11. Coriander leaves: 2 tablespoons finely chopped
  12. Garlic: 1-2 cloves grated
  13. Butter: for applying to the naan

Method:

  1. First of all, take flour in a large vessel. After this, add baking soda, baking powder, salt, and sugar and mix well.
  2. Now add curd and 2 tablespoons oil/ghee and knead well with your fingers.
  3. Slowly pour in water and knead the mixture until you get a soft, smooth dough
  4. Cover the dough with a wet cloth and keep it in a warm place for at least 1-2 hours, so that it swells.
  5. After this, add grated cheese, finely chopped green chilies, green coriander, and grated garlic (if adding) in a bowl and mix well.
  6. Now knead the dough lightly once again. Now break it into balls. Take a small portion, shape it into a ball, and roll it out gently.
  7. Place the cheese stuffing in the middle of it, lift it from all four sides, and close it well, like we make potato paratha.
  8. Now roll it lightly into an oval or round shape. Do not roll it too thin.
  9. After this, heat a non-stick pan. When the pan is hot, put the rolled naan on it.
  10. When one side is lightly cooked, turn it over and let the other side also get lightly cooked.
  11. Now cook the naan directly on the flame or on the gas by holding it with tongs, like we cook roti.
  12. Remember, it has to be cooked well from all sides so that it gets light brown spots and it puffs up.
  13. When the naan is cooked well on both sides, take it off the pan and apply butter to it while it is still hot.
  14. Your spicy and cheesy naan is now ready to serve hot!
