Ingredients: Restaurant-Style Mushroom Manchurian Recipe

  1. 200 grams of mushrooms (cleaned and cut into two parts)
  2. ½ cup flour
  3. ¼ cup cornflour
  4. ½ teaspoon red chili powder
  5. ½ teaspoon black pepper powder
  6. ½ teaspoon ginger-garlic paste
  7. Salt to taste
  8. Water (to make butter)
  9. Oil for frying
  10. 1 capsicum (finely chopped)
  11. 1 onion (finely chopped)
  12. 2 green chilies (cut lengthwise)
  13. 1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste
  14. 2 teaspoons soy sauce
  15. 1 teaspoon chili sauce
  16. 1 teaspoon tomato sauce
  17. 1 teaspoon vinegar
  18. 1 teaspoon cornflour (dissolved in water)
  19. ½ teaspoon black pepper powder
  20. Salt to taste
  21. 2 teaspoons oil
  22. Green coriander and green onion (for garnish)

Method:

  1. Add flour, cornflour, red chili powder, black pepper powder, ginger-garlic paste and salt in a bowl.
  2. Prepare a thick batter by adding water little by little (the batter should neither be too thick nor too thin).
  3. Now add chopped mushrooms and coat them well.
  4. Heat oil in a pan and deep fry the mushrooms till they become golden brown and crispy.
  5. Take out the fried mushrooms on a tissue paper so that the extra oil is removed.
  6. Heat 2 teaspoons of oil in a pan.
  7. Add ginger-garlic paste to it and fry lightly.
  8. Now add green chillies, onions, and capsicum and fry for 2-3 minutes.
  9. After this, add soya sauce, chilli sauce, tomato sauce, and vinegar and mix well.
  10. Now add ¼ cup water and add cornflour solution to it, and let the gravy thicken.
  11. Add salt and black pepper powder and adjust according to taste.
  12. Add fried mushrooms to the prepared gravy and mix gently so that they remain crispy.
  13. Cook for 2 minutes so that the mushrooms absorb the flavour of the gravy well.
  14. Now, serve hot mushroom Manchurian as a starter with green chutney or chilli sauce.
  15. Make Manchurian just before eating so that it does not become soggy for a long time and remains crispy.
