Ingredients:
- Bread slices: 6-8 (edges cut)
- Boiled potatoes: 2-3 medium-sized (mashed well)
- Finely chopped onion: 1 small
- Finely chopped green chillies: 1-2 (as per your taste)
- Finely chopped coriander leaves: 2 tbsp
- Ginger-garlic paste: 1 tsp (optional)
- Red chilli powder: 1/2 tsp
- Coriander powder: 1 tsp
- Garam masala: 1/4 tsp
- Dry mango powder: 1/2 tsp (or lemon juice)
- Salt: to taste
- Oil: for frying
- Water: to moisten the bread
Crispy Bread Rolls Recipe: Method
- Put the mashed and boiling potatoes in a big basin.
- Add finely chopped onion, green chillies, coriander leaves, ginger-garlic paste (if using), red chilli powder, coriander powder, garam masala, dry mango powder, and salt and mix well.
- If you want, you can also add some roasted peanuts or pieces of cheese to it; this will enhance the taste.
- Cut the edges of the bread slices. Now take water in a bowl. One by one, dip the bread slices lightly in water and take them out immediately.
- Keep in mind, do not wet the bread too much, otherwise it will break. Remove excess water by pressing the bread lightly with both hands.
- Now, place a wet bread slice on your palm. Take a small part of the prepared potato mixture and give it a roll or oval shape.
- Place it in the middle of the bread slice and fold the bread from all sides to give it the shape of a roll.
- Seal the edges well so that the masala does not come out while frying. Make sure you prepare each roll in the same manner.
- Heat the oil in a pan. The oil should be medium hot. When the oil is hot, add the prepared bread rolls slowly to it. Fry only as many rolls at a time as can easily fit in the pan.
- The bread rolls should be fried over low to medium heat, rotating often, until they are crispy and golden brown.. When they are nicely browned, take them out on a kitchen towel to drain out the excess oil.
