Crispy Paneer Balls Recipe: Ingredients

  1. Boiled potatoes: 2 medium-sized (grated or mashed)
  2. Paneer: 200 gms (grated)
  3. Finely chopped green chillies: 1-2 (you can add more or less as per your taste)
  4. Finely chopped coriander leaves: 2 tbsp
  5. Cornflour (maize flour): 2 tbsp (for binding)
  6. Ginger-garlic paste: 1 tsp (if desired)
  7. Red chilli powder: ½ tsp
  8. Coriander powder: 1 tsp
  9. Garam masala: ½ tsp
  10. Salt: to taste
  11. Oil: for frying

Method :

  1. In a large bowl, add grated paneer, mashed potatoes, green chillies, coriander leaves, ginger-garlic paste (if using), red chilli powder, coriander powder, garam masala, and salt.
  2. Now add cornflour and mix all the ingredients well to form a smooth mixture. Keep in mind, the mixture should not be too wet. If it feels a little sticky, you can add 1 teaspoon more cornflour.
  3. Grease your hands with a little oil and make small balls from this mixture. You can make small or big balls as per your choice.
  4. Heat oil in a pan on medium flame. There should be enough oil so that the balls can be immersed in it properly.
  5. When the oil is hot, keep the flame medium and slowly add the balls to the oil. Add only as many balls at a time as can easily fit in the pan and give them space to turn.
  6. Fry the balls until they are crispy and golden-brown. To ensure that they cook equally on all sides, keep rotating them gently in between.
  7. Serve hot, crispy paneer balls with your favourite chutney, tomato sauce, or green chutney.
