Ingredients: Crispy Jaggery Shakkar Paras Recipe
- Wheat flour – 1 cup
- Semolina – ¼ cup (for crispiness)
- Ghee – 2 tbsp (for kneading)
- Water – as required
- Oil or ghee for frying
- Jaggery – ½ cup (chopped)
- Water – ¼ cup
- Cardamom powder – ½ tsp
- Sesame – 1 tbsp (not necessary, but will enhance the taste)
Method:
- First of all, put wheat flour, semolina, and ghee in a bowl.
- Mix it well and mix it with both palms, so that the kneading is properly mixed.
- Now add water little by little and knead a medium tight dough.
- Keep it covered for 15 minutes.
- Put jaggery and water in a pan and cook on low flame.
- When the jaggery dissolves completely, add cardamom powder and sesame to it.
- Do not make the syrup too thick, cook till it becomes slightly sticky.
- Make small balls of the kneaded dough and roll them like thick roti.
- Cut it into small pieces (Shakar Pare) with a knife.
- Now fry them in oil or ghee on low flame till they become golden brown.
- When all the Shakkar Pare are fried, put them in hot syrup and mix well.
