Homemade Gujarati Dhokla Recipe: Ingredients
- 1 cup gram flour
- 2 tbsp semolina
- 1 tsp ginger-green chilli paste
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp fruit salt or baking soda
- 1 tsp oil
- Salt to taste
- 2 tbsp oil
- 1 tsp mustard1 tsp asafoetida
- 8-10 curry leaves
- 2 green chillies
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1/2 cup water

Method:
- Add gram flour and semolina to a large bowl.
- Add ginger-green chilli paste, lemon juice, turmeric powder, and salt and mix well.
- Now add water slowly to make a thick batter and let it rest for 15-20 minutes.
- Heat the water in a pressure cooker or steamer.
- Mix the batter right away with light hands after adding baking soda or fruit salt.
- Pour the batter into a greased dhokla tray or thali.
- Put the tray in the steamer and let it steam for fifteen to twenty minutes.
- When the dhokla is cooked, do a toothpick test. If the toothpick comes out clean, the dhokla is ready.
- Curry leaves, mustard seeds, asafoetida, and green chilies are now added to hot oil in a pan and fried.
- Now add sugar and water and let it boil.
- Coat the prepared dhokla by pouring this tadka over it.
- Garnish the dhokla with green coriander.
