This dish, prepared with yogurt, is served in Maharashtra and Gujarat on special occasions or to guests. Shrikhand is also served as a sweet dish in the thali meal. It is prepared with hung curd, plus you can also make it with your favorite flavors. During the mango season, you can also prepare mango shrikhand or amrakhand by adding mango pulp to the same dish.
Ingredients for making shrikhand
- 1 kg of yogurt
- Half a cup of powdered sugar
- Some fibers of keshar
- 1 tbsp warm milk
- Half a teaspoon of cardamom powder
How to make
- Put the curd in a muslin cloth or muslin cloth and let it hang for 2-3 hours to drain completely.
- Yogurt tends to turn sour in hot weather, so you can also store it in the refrigerator.
- When the curd is completely drained, remove the hung curd in a bowl.
- Now heat the milk in a pan and dissolve the keshar fibers in it.
- Add the hung curd, sugar, saffron solution, and cardamom powder to the bowl and mix well. Use the whisk for this.
- Garnish the prepared shrikhand with chopped pistachios and chopped almonds.
