Kadai Mushroom is a delicious North Indian curry made with juicy mushrooms, crunchy capsicum, onions, and freshly ground kadai masala. This Dhaba Special version is packed with bold spices, smoky flavors, and a thick masala gravy that tastes just like your favorite highway restaurant.

🛒 Ingredients

🍄 Main Ingredients

  1. 300g button mushrooms (halved)
  2. 1 large onion (petals)
  3. 1 green capsicum (cubed)
  4. 1 red capsicum (optional)
  5. 2 tomatoes (finely chopped)
  6. 2 green chilies (slit)

🌶️ Fresh Kadai Masala

  1. 1½ tbsp coriander seeds
  2. 1 tsp cumin seeds
  3. 4 dried red chilies
  4. ½ tsp black peppercorns

👉 Dry roast and crush coarsely.

🧄 Aromatics

1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste

🌿 Other Spices

  1. 1 tsp Kashmiri red chili powder
  2. ½ tsp turmeric
  3. ½ tsp garam masala
  4. 1 tsp kasuri methi
  5. Salt to taste

  1. 2 tbsp oil
  2. 1 tbsp butter
  3. Fresh coriander leaves

👨‍🍳 Step-by-Step Recipe

🔥 Step 1: Make the Kadai Masala

Dry roast coriander, cumin, dried red chilies, and peppercorns.
Cool and crush coarsely.

Heat oil in a kadai.
