Ingredients: Makhana Chaat Recipe
- Makhana: 2 cups
- Finely chopped onion: 1 small
- Finely chopped tomato: 1 small
- Finely chopped green chilli: 1 (according to your taste)
- Finely chopped coriander leaves: 2 tbsp
- Peanuts: 1/4 cup (roasted)
- Roasted chana or besan sev: 2 tbsp (optional)
- Lemon juice: 1 tbsp
- Chat masala: 1 tsp
- Black salt: 1/2 tsp (or according to taste)
- Red chilli powder: 1/4 tsp (optional)
- Ghee or oil: 1 tsp (for roasting makhana)
Method:
- First of all, heat 1 tsp ghee or oil in a wok or pan. Add makhana and fry it on a low flame by stirring continuously till it becomes crispy.
- Fry the makhanas so much that they break easily. After roasting, take them out in a vessel and let them cool.
- After this, put the roasted makhanas in a large bowl. Now add finely chopped onion, tomato, green chili, green coriander, and roasted peanuts.
- Now add lemon juice, chaat masala, black salt, and red chili powder (if using) on top.
- Mix all the ingredients well with light hands, so that the spices and vegetables get well coated on the makhanas.
- Your delicious and healthy makhana chaat is ready. Serve it immediately with hot tea.
- If you want, you can also serve it by adding some gram flour sev or roasted chana on top; this will enhance the taste.
