Ingredients: Crispy Homemade Samosas

  1. 2 cups all-purpose flour
  2. 4 tbsp oil (for kneading)
  3. ½ tsp salt
  4. ½ tsp carom seeds
  5. Water as required
  6. 4 medium-sized potatoes (boiled and mashed)
  7. ½ cup green peas (boiled)
  8. 1 tsp coriander powder
  9. ½ tsp garam masala
  10. ½ tsp red chili powder
  11. ½ tsp cumin seeds
  12. ½ tsp ginger-garlic paste
  13. 1 tbsp coriander leaves
  14. ½ tsp dry mango powder
  15. Salt to taste

Method:

  1. Add all-purpose flour, salt, carom seeds, and oil in a large bowl and mix well.
  2. Add water slowly and knead a stiff dough. After this, keep it covered for 20 minutes.
  3. Now heat some oil in a pan and add cumin seeds to it.
  4. Add ginger-garlic paste and fry it, then add green peas and fry lightly.
  5. Now add mashed potatoes and all the spices and mix well.
  6. After cooking for two minutes, turn off the flame and let the mixture cool down.
  7. After this, make small balls of the kneaded dough and roll them, and cut them into crescent shapes.
  8. Give it a cone shape and fill it with the prepared potato stuffing, and seal the edges properly.
  9. Heat oil in a pan and fry the samosas on medium flame till they become golden and crispy.
  10. Serve hot samosas with green chutney and tamarind chutney.
  11. It tastes even better with tea.
