Ingredients:

  1. Moong dal – 1 cup (soaked for 3-4 hours)
  2. Ginger – ½ inch piece
  3. Green chilli – 1 (finely chopped)
  4. Salt – according to taste
  5. Cumin seeds – ½ tsp
  6. Water – as per requirement (for grinding)
  7. Wheat or multigrain bread – 4-6 slices
  8. Onion – 1 (finely chopped)
  9. Tomato – 1 (finely chopped)
  10. Capsicum – ½ cup (finely chopped)
  11. Carrot – ¼ cup (grated)
  12. Coriander leaves – 2 tbsp (chopped)
  13. Chaat masala – ½ tsp
  14. Black pepper powder – ¼ tsp
  15. Oil – 1-2 tbsp (for making toast)

Method: High-Protein Moong Dal Toast

  1. Wash and soak moong dal thoroughly and drain its water after 3-4 hours.
  2. Now grind it in a mixer with ginger, green chilli, salt and some water and grind it coarsely.
  3. Grind it, make sure that the paste is not too thin.
  4. Add chopped onion, tomato, capsicum, carrot, coriander leaves, cumin, chaat masala, and black pepper powder to the prepared paste and mix well.
  5. Now take bread slices and spread the prepared moong dal paste evenly on one side. After this, heat a non-stick pan and add a little oil.
  6. Now place the bread on the pan with the moong dal paste side and fry it on medium flame for 2-3 minutes, until it becomes golden brown.
  7. Then fry the other side lightly so that the bread becomes crispy.
  8. Now serve it hot with tomato ketchup, mint chutney or curd, and tea.
